Jay Irwin Jay Irwin has been on the Forrest and Associates Creative Team since 2000.
A native of Green Bay/Milwaukee Jay spent a great deal of his youth in a broadcast booth, working with his father, Jim Irwin, a 10-time winner of "Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year." While his father did play-by-play, Jay spotted, scored, and assistant produced for Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badger football and basketball, and Milwaukee Bucks broadcasts. A lifelong music lover, Jay performed in the Wisconsin Honors Choirs and Symphonic Bands before switching his focus to the prestigious School of Speech at Northwestern University. While there Jay performed in 13 productions including the annual Waa-Mu show, for which he won both the Sarah Siddons Scholarship and Joe Miller Award for "outstanding contribution to the original musical revue. Jay has worked with top Chicago theatres including the Marriott Lincolnshire, Candlelight Forum Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and Steppenwolf Theatre where he performed with Albert Finney in the inaugural production of their new building.
In Los Angeles Jay coordinated art storage and installations with local fine art institutions including The Getty Museum, LACMA, MOCA, Armand Hammer Foundation, and the Robert Rifkind Foundation before becoming the Executive Director of the Judith Kaufman Gallery at the historic El Portal Theatre in the Noho Arts District.
In the theatre he has produced performances by Bea Arthur, Jason Robert Brown, and the musical, Always, Patsy Cline, starring Sally Struthers. As co manager he regularly coordinates El Portal Theatre receptions with event planners and vendors including stage presentation, audio-visual production, and catered affairs.
